The research project addresses the simulation of shape dependent Maxwell eigenvalue problems. To accurately represent the shape and discretise the electromagnetic fields B-Splines and Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) are used, i.e. isogeometric analysis . Such problems occur for example when designing or measuring superconducting radio frequency resonators.
