Das Forschungsprojekt wird am CERN durchgeführt und untersucht die Auswirkungen der Verwendung von Hochtemperatur-Supraleitern (HTS) in Hochfeld-Beschleunigermagneten für die zukünftigen Kreisbeschleuniger. Für die Analyse müssen spezielle numerische Formulierungen und Modelle entwickelt werden, um das magnetothermische Verhalten solcher Magnete zu bewerten. Die Ergebnisse der numerischen Modelle unterstützen den Entwurf der HTS-basierten Prototypmagnete, die zugehörigen Schutzvorrichtungen und die supraleitenden Schaltungen für die zukünftigen Beschleuniger, wie z.B. FCC.
